Maranga Mai Te Mana Motuhake: A Waiata for the Movement

Maranga mai te mana motuhake!

This waiata is a karanga to our people; a powerful genre fusion that calls our taitamariki to rise, our whānau to unite, and all of us to stand strong for mana motuhake.

Written by: Brooklyn Manga-Harris
Produced by: Te Oranga Dunn
Performed by: Ngahina Dunn & Brooklyn Manga-Harris

The lyrics weave together the strength of our waka, the sacredness of Tāne, the unity of kotahitanga, and the heartbeat of our Ngāpuhi roots. It’s old school mana with a new school vibe made for dancing, vibing, marching, and rising.

“Maranga, e te iwi
Karanga ki ngā taitamariki
Maranga ake, maranga mai te mana motuhake.”

Whānau, tēnei te wā, let’s rise together!
Listen, share, and let this waiata fuel our movement.
